About the program
What is Code Camp at School?+
Code Camp at School is a structured after-school computing program that runs inside your child's school. It's organised in three age-banded tiers (Bands A, B, C) covering Classes 4 through 10. Students build real projects, earn mentor-confirmed milestones, and grow a portfolio over time.
Is this a bootcamp? A class? A club?+
None of those, exactly. It runs like a structured course — with a real curriculum, real milestones, and real mentors — but inside your child's school after hours. There's no application test, no pressure, and no performance grading. Just building.
How long is the program?+
Each band is two semesters long, running in parallel with the school year. Students who complete one band can progress to the next. The full three-band journey runs across multiple years.
Where does it run?+
The program runs at your child's school — currently at Chelsea World School. No commute, no extra logistics. Sessions happen on school premises, after school hours.
Enrollment & placement
My child has never coded. Can they join?+
Yes — that's exactly who Band A is designed for. We start from zero. Students build visual, interactive projects from the very first session. No prior experience is required or assumed.
My child already knows some coding. Do they start from the beginning?+
No. We do a brief placement check before the first session to understand what your child can already do. If they're ahead, they're placed accordingly — sometimes skipping straight to Band B or C content.
How many students are in each band?+
Bands are small by design — enough students for energy and collaboration, few enough that every student gets real mentor attention. We limit seats intentionally, which is why early enrolment matters.
Is there an application or interview?+
No formal application. Start with an enquiry via WhatsApp. We'll confirm space in the right band and share enrollment details.
Progress & proof
How do I know what my child is learning?+
Every student has a Builder Map — a visual record of every skill in the current semester, showing what's completed, in progress, or ahead. Parents receive a term summary with milestone proof at the end of each semester.
What is a 'milestone'?+
A milestone is a confirmed skill with a completed project behind it. When a mentor marks a milestone, it means the student demonstrated the skill — not just that they watched a video or clicked through a lesson. Each semester has six milestones.
Do students get a certificate?+
Students build a portfolio of real projects — which is more useful than a certificate. At the end of every semester, they have concrete evidence of what they can do, not just proof they attended.
Can my child show their work to others?+
Yes. Projects are designed to be shareable. By Band C, students build for a real audience — tools and interfaces that other people actually use.
Fees & logistics
What does it cost?+
Fees are shared directly when you enquire — they're not listed publicly as they depend on the specific enrollment term and any sibling or early-bird arrangements. Reach out via WhatsApp to get the current details.
How many sessions per week?+
Two sessions per week, each 1.5 hours long, during the after-school period. That's 90 contact hours per year — enough to build serious skills.
What devices or equipment does my child need?+
Nothing at home. All tools and platforms used in sessions are available at school. If your child wants to continue at home, we'll share what platforms to use — all free.
What if my child misses a session?+
The Builder Map means no session is a black box. Mentors note where each student is, so returning after a missed session is smooth — they pick up from where they left, not from square one.
