About the program
What is Code Camp at School?+
Code Camp at School is currently focused on AI Pathway, a structured after-school computing and AI program that runs inside your child's school. It is organised as eight mountain bands from Mera Basecamp through Cho Oyu Summit.
Is this a bootcamp? A class? A club?+
None of those, exactly. It runs like a structured course — with a real curriculum, real milestones, and real mentors — but inside your child's school after hours. There's no application test, no pressure, and no performance grading. Just building.
How long is the program?+
AI Pathway is designed as a multi-year climb. Students progress through named mountain bands as their responsibility grows: exact instructions first, then systems, data, AI, engineering, and independent judgment.
Where does it run?+
The program runs at your child's school — currently at Chelsea World School, on campus from 4:00 to 5:30 PM, twice a week. Snacks are provided before the session and transport home runs afterwards, so there's no commute and no extra pick-up to arrange.
Enrollment & placement
My child has never coded. Can they join?+
Yes. Mera Basecamp is designed for first-time learners. Students begin with guided missions and exact instructions before moving toward more open-ended building.
My child already knows some coding. Do they start from the beginning?+
No. We do a brief placement check before the first session to understand what your child can already do, then place them at the right AI Pathway band.
How many students are in each band?+
Bands are small by design — enough students for energy and collaboration, few enough that every student gets real mentor attention. We limit seats intentionally, which is why early enrolment matters.
Is there an application or interview?+
No formal application. Start with an enquiry via WhatsApp. We'll confirm space in the right band and share enrollment details.
Progress & proof
How do I know what my child is learning?+
AI Pathway records activity evidence: predictions, attempts, tests, debugging, explanations, and project progress. Parent updates use that evidence instead of vague attendance claims.
What is a 'milestone'?+
A milestone is a parent-readable capability claim backed by student work and evidence. It is not just a quiz score or a certificate line.
Do students get a certificate?+
Certificates can matter, but the stronger product is the portfolio and proof trail: real projects, explanations, and evidence of growing capability.
Can my child show their work to others?+
Yes. Projects are designed to become visible artifacts over time, with parent-safe summaries and curated proof where appropriate.
Fees & logistics
What does it cost?+
Fees are shared directly when you enquire — they're not listed publicly as they depend on the specific enrollment term and any sibling or early-bird arrangements. Reach out via WhatsApp to get the current details.
How many sessions per week?+
Two sessions per week, each 1.5 hours long, during the after-school period — 3 hours of mentor-led time every week the program runs.
How long does the program run each year?+
The AI Pathway term runs about 6 months — roughly 24 teaching weeks — not the full calendar year. At two 1.5-hour sessions a week that comes to 72 contact hours per term. We state the term openly because 'hours per year' would overstate what you're actually enrolling in.
What devices or equipment does my child need?+
Nothing at home. All tools and platforms used in sessions are available at school. If your child wants to continue at home, we'll share what platforms to use — all free.
What if my child misses a session?+
The Builder Map means no session is a black box. Mentors note where each student is, so returning after a missed session is smooth — they pick up from where they left, not from square one.
